Structure of the curriculum
The scope of studies leading to a Master's degree is 120 ECTS credits and the completion is scheduled for 2 years of full time studies. The degree includes 20 credits of compulsory studies, 10 credits of common elective studies, 55 credits of specialisation studies, 5 credits of free-choice studies and 30 credits of thesis.
The programme includes a mandatory international exchange at MCI Austria. Haaga-Helia double degree students will visit MCI's Management, Communication and IT master's degree program in their third semester (second semester at MCI) from March to July 2025.

Planning your studies
The following academic year schedule shows a rough schedule of where and when the courses are carried out during the studies.

The first semester includes 4 courses (see table below), 3 of which are taken at Haaga-Helia and one at MCI as online studies. Two of the study courses are predefined and the other two are chosen between two courses according to your own interest. Take a look at the course descriptions before making your choice. More detailed information about the schedules will be published by the end of June. Enrollment for the courses is done in August during the orientation week.

Studies at Haaga-Helia and MCI make it possible to work alongside studies. In Haaga-Helia, teaching takes place, depending on the course, either fully virtual or including meetings online or on the Pasila campus on weekday evenings from 17.40 to 20.30. At MCI, teaching takes place intensively on campus from Wednesday noon to Saturday afternoon. 75% attendance is required for MCI courses.
Start of the studies
In August, week 32, you will receive an email invitation to the orientation materials for Master students. With the help of the orientation materials, you can familiarise yourself with the Haaga-Helia's systems.
Orientation
Orientation to the studies will be arranged before the beginning of the actual academic year, on Wednesday 14 August 2024 from 17.00 to 19.00 o'clock at Pasila campus. The orientation prepares you for the studies as well as provides an opportunity to meet student colleagues who share your professional goals with you.
Detailed information and instructions for orientation will be sent to you in the beginning of August so remember to log in to your student email and, if necessary, redirect your mail to an address that you are actively following.
